# What Happens to My Data After Account Deletion?

## Short Answer

When you delete your account, the action is irreversible and your account data is permanently removed.

## Important Difference: Cancel Subscription vs Delete Account

* `Cancel subscription`: stops billing and service based on billing status, but is not the same as deleting your account.
* `Delete account`: permanently removes your account data and cannot be undone.

## Data Retention Note

If you cancel your subscription, your personalized data and knowledge base settings will be deleted after 30 days.
