# Increase Awareness

> Learn how to help the right consumers discover your product or service and take the next step to learn more.

Customer acquisition starts with helping the right people discover and remember your product or brand. Use search engines, AI search, social media, advertising, media coverage, and events to reach prospective customers, then give them a clear next step such as searching for your brand or visiting a product page.

## How to increase awareness

There are five main ways to create touchpoints with potential customers. You can jump to detailed explanations within this page from each item.

* [**Be found in search engines**](#search-engine): Display your website or articles in search results when potential customers search for problems or how to choose products.
* [**Be found in AI search**](#ai-search): Investigate how tools such as ChatGPT describe your company and products, then improve the official information they can understand and cite.
* [**Grow awareness via social media**](#social-media): Deliver information to potential customers who haven’t yet searched for your product through posts, videos, and <Tooltip tip="Abbreviation for user-generated content. Refers to posts, photos, videos, reviews, etc., created by customers or influencers who used the product rather than by the company.">**UGC (user-generated content)**</Tooltip>.
* [**Grow awareness through advertising**](#advertising): Deliver information quickly to targeted potential customers by running ads on social media platforms, video sites, and more.
* [**Grow awareness through media and events**](#media-events): Create touchpoints with new customer segments through media coverage, participating in events, speaking engagements, or hosting events.

## Define what customers should remember and do next

Before you start publishing or running ads with any method, decide the following three things.

* **Target customers and situations:** Which potential customers and in what situations will they need the product?
* **Memorable value:** Which product category, customer benefit, and distinctive brand name or phrase should people remember?
* **Next action:** Which action should aware potential customers be guided to, such as searching the brand name, viewing profiles, or visiting the website?

For example, a food brand might focus on “people who need to prepare dinner quickly on busy weeknights,” while a beauty service might target “people getting ready for a special occasion.” Using the same audience, situation, and value across search keywords, social posts, ads, and media pitches helps customers recognize the brand wherever they encounter it.

Also check which customers, situations, and values your competitors communicate. Use this to distinguish between information customers already see and the unique value your company can demonstrate, rather than simply copying competitors’ expressions.

## Be found in search engines

<Tooltip tip="Short for Search Engine Optimization. Efforts to make your pages easier to find in search results from Google, Bing, and others.">**SEO (search engine optimization)**</Tooltip> involves making sure your website or articles appear in search results when potential customers search for problems or how to choose products. This is suitable for creating touchpoints with potential customers who already recognize their problem and are looking for solutions on their own.

To grow awareness from search results, you need to make your website discoverable by search engines and prepare pages or articles that match the search terms potential customers use. Search rankings continue to change after publication, so keep improving with the following flow.

1. Organize your website’s SEO settings and site structure
2. Research keywords potential customers search for
3. Create and publish pages and articles that answer searchers’ questions
4. Monitor and improve visibility in search results, rankings, and site traffic

NoimosAI can perform an <Tooltip tip="Review the website’s structure, settings, and page content to find issues that prevent appearance in search results.">**SEO audit**</Tooltip>, keyword research, article creation, and analysis of rankings and traffic. ## Be found in AI search

<Tooltip tip="Short for generative engine optimization. Efforts to make your information easier for AI search services such as ChatGPT to understand and cite in generated answers.">**GEO (generative engine optimization)**</Tooltip> improves how accurately AI search systems can understand, mention, and cite your company and products. It is especially useful when prospective customers ask AI to compare products or recommend options that fit their needs.

To be found in AI search, research which questions result in your company or competitors being mentioned, and prepare a website and information that AI can easily reference. Improvements should target not only articles but also product descriptions, FAQs, comparison information, and supporting data. Improve while checking visibility with the following steps.

1. Investigate how your company and competitors are mentioned for target questions
2. Confirm that AI systems can access and cite your website
3. Add information necessary for mentions or citations to your website and existing pages
4. Continuously monitor changes in mentions and citations of your company

NoimosAI can investigate your and competitors’ visibility, cited information sources, and website improvement points across multiple AI searches. Based on the results, the next guide explains how to improve existing page descriptions, FAQs, and <Tooltip tip="Data added in a prescribed format to clearly communicate page content to search engines and AI.">**structured data**</Tooltip>.

## Grow awareness via social media

On social media, deliver information to potential customers who haven’t yet searched for your product through posts, images, and videos. This is suitable when you want to show product use cases or visual transformations, or when you want to maintain ongoing contact so the brand stays top-of-mind.

Choose platforms based on whether your target customers use them regularly and whether the format makes it easy to convey the product’s appeal.

NoimosAI currently integrates with the following apps. Available features after integration vary by platform and account permissions.

Once you have chosen the platforms, use the following workflow.

1. Choose the social media platforms that match your target customers and content themes
2. Research industry trends, trending posts, and competitors’ content to decide post themes
3. Create and publish posts, images, and videos tailored to each social media format
4. Review <Tooltip tip="The number of unique users who saw your social media post or ad.">**reach**</Tooltip>, saves, shares, and profile visits to improve future content

<Tooltip tip="Abbreviation for user-generated content. Refers to posts, photos, videos, reviews, etc., created by customers or influencers who used the product rather than by the company.">**UGC (user-generated content)**</Tooltip> and influencer content can also be leveraged in this flow. Finding customer reviews and usage posts and featuring them with permission can demonstrate real experiences that brand messaging alone can’t convey. When working with influencers, check not only follower counts but also audience match with target customers, typical post content, and engagement quality.

NoimosAI can compile trends and competitors’ posts across multiple social media platforms and create post ideas and assets based on the results. In addition to publishing and analyzing engagement, NoimosAI can monitor brand and product mentions to find UGC candidates.

The following guide explains how to select platforms, plan and publish content, and improve performance.

## Grow awareness through advertising

Run ads to quickly deliver information to potential customers who don’t yet know your company. Advertising is suitable when you have a defined audience and timeframe—such as a new product launch, campaign, or regional store opening—or when you want to reach customer segments that are hard to reach through organic search or social media posts.

Awareness campaigns can use social media ads, YouTube video ads, and display ads across websites and apps. Before choosing a channel, define the audience, the value the ad should communicate, and the page people should visit afterward. Then select the channel and creative format and review performance after launch. Check the following when planning and optimizing a campaign:

* **Target customers:** Which regions, demographics, interests, and behaviors of potential customers will you reach?
* **Media:** Is it an ad medium your target customers use regularly and that’s suited to conveying your product?
* <Tooltip tip="The product value or reason to choose it that you communicate to people who see the ad.">**Message**</Tooltip>: Which value of the product will you convey in instantly understandable language?
* <Tooltip tip="The images, videos, headlines, descriptions, and other expressions and assets used in ads.">**Creative**</Tooltip>: Are images, videos, headlines, and descriptions adapted to the media format?
* **Metrics:** Reach among target customers, video views, visits from ads to the website, and other measures of increased post-awareness actions

NoimosAI can research the messaging and creatives used in publicly available competitors’ ads and create messaging, ad copy, images, and videos for you to test. Ad account setup and budget management are handled in the ad platforms you use.

<a id="media-events" />

## Grow awareness through media and events

Create touchpoints with third-party audiences and attendees through media coverage and events. This is suitable when you want to reach customer segments that are hard to get through your own channels, or when you want to build trust in the product through expertise, social significance, or proven results.

Media and events require different approaches. For media coverage, research outlets, reporters, and programs related to your product or announcement, and pitch tailored information that matches their audience and recent topics. For events, research gatherings where your target customers attend and propose participation or speaking opportunities, or host your own event to attract attendees.

In all cases, don’t choose candidates based solely on name recognition; verify audience match with target customers, the concrete information you can provide, and the post-contact path. Prepare information in press articles, programs, and presentation materials so potential customers can search the product name or visit your website.

NoimosAI can research media outlets, reporters, programs, and events relevant to your product or announcement, then compare candidates by audience and editorial fit. It can also draft outreach, but verify contact details and coverage areas and tailor every message to the outlet’s recent work before sending.

## Measure awareness by channel

Evaluate awareness with channel-appropriate metrics. If reach grows without a corresponding increase in branded searches, profile visits, or website traffic, revisit the audience, message, and call to action.
